Several students competed last Saturday in the Round 2 and 9/10 Honor Choir auditions. There were some exceptional results.

TOBA AWONIYI – 9th grade – was selected as a member of the elite Region 5 All-Region Choir and advanced to Round 3 of the All-State audition process!!

ELLA GWARTNEY – 10th grade & CHIDERA IHEANACHO – 9th grade – earned places in the 9/10 Honor Choir for Region 5.

These students will perform with these organizations on November 21 at the MISD Center for Performing Arts in a 5:00 pm concert. The best singers from Mansfield, HEB, Birdville and Arlington join their voices for a magnificent performance.

The Lake Ridge Chorale will be joining the other MISD high schools to present a concert on Monday, October 26. The concert starts at 7:00 at the MISD Center for Performing Arts on Debbie Lane. The finale of the performance will be a premiere of a piece commissioned for the event under the direction of the father of MISD choral music – Mr. Asa Low. Admission is free, so bring the family to a terrific night of choral music.

Fall Concert – Monday

Here is the timeline that was also sent home.

6:30 Mary Lillard Int. Choir Concert
7:00 Danny Jones MS Choir Concert (Harmonix will perform)
7:30 All students arrive in uniform. Pay attention in class to know where to go when you arrive. Points will be deduced from this test grade if you are late.
7:40 (or right after the Danny Jones concert is over)
Rehearse combined song and walk through logistics
7:55 Choirs to their seats
8:00 Concert begins
Sign out Students need to sign out before leaving after the concert.

The concert will be at Willie Pigg Auditorium on the Wester MS Campus. The Danny Jones MS Choir concert will be ending about 7:30, so parking will be a challenge. Please drop students off and then find a parking spot.
