9/10 Honor Choir Audition Cuts

Students, here are the cuts for Saturday’s audition. Open the file below and mark the cuts in your music. Make sure you mark where the piano starts as well as where you sing and stop in each song. Bring your music to class – we will discuss how to paper clip your music for the audition.

You can download this audio file to practice with. It is the exact thing you will hear at the audition on Saturday!

You can also play the file right here to practice on your computer. Make sure you have speakers loud enough so you can sing full volume and still hear the music.

Cookies, Forms, Dresses, Coats, and more

We have reached the end of six weeks, and the Lake Ridge Choirs are progressing very well. I am impressed with the talent and hard work of the groups. Here are a few items everyone needs to know…

  • Students should have brought home uniforms last week. If they did not pick up theirs up, they should do so ASAP so that any alterations can be taken care of.
  • Cookie Dough orders will be here Thursday (Oct. 9). All items must be picked up Thursday afternoon between 2:45 and 4:00 pm.
  • Parents, please make sure that I have a good email address for you in Charms. There are links to the right (or below, possibly, on mobile) to the Charms site and instructions on how to sign in.
  • Handbook forms are past due by several weeks. Detentions will be assigned if students to do not return their forms this week. The handbook can be printed from the link on this page if you need another copy.
  • Choir fees are also past due. If additional time is needed, please send a note to Mr. Glenn. Otherwise, late fees will be assessed starting next week.
  • The Fall Concert is coming up in two weeks – Monday, October 20. The concert starts at 7:00 pm and students will report earlier. More details will be distributed soon.

TMEA Round 1 Results

Eight Lake Ridge singers practiced many hours for the past month to prepare for Round 1 of All-State auditions at Martin HS today.

Congratulations to

NATALIE MERRELL

who advanced by placing 9th chair in her Alto 1 room.

The new year has begun!

Well, week 1 is in the books! We have terrific singers all in the right classes, and now they have their voice parts assigned. Preparations for the quickly looming Round 1 TMEA Audition is underway. The private voice lesson schedule is beginning to fill. Our first fund-raiser starts this Friday – Cookie Dough!! In other words, we have hit the ground running, and there’s no turning back.

Handbook forms and choir fees are due this week. Also, students should be bringing voice lesson checks and applications as soon as possible so they can get started. Elections for the remaining department officers will take place soon.

I am looking forward to an exciting year filled with fantastic music!

Mr. Glenn
