Several students competed last Saturday in the Round 2 and 9/10 Honor Choir auditions. There were some exceptional results.

TOBA AWONIYI – 9th grade – was selected as a member of the elite Region 5 All-Region Choir and advanced to Round 3 of the All-State audition process!!

ELLA GWARTNEY – 10th grade & CHIDERA IHEANACHO – 9th grade – earned places in the 9/10 Honor Choir for Region 5.

These students will perform with these organizations on November 21 at the MISD Center for Performing Arts in a 5:00 pm concert. The best singers from Mansfield, HEB, Birdville and Arlington join their voices for a magnificent performance.

Chidera Iheanacho – Tenor 2
Toba Awoniyi – Bass 2

LRHS had one singer at Round 2 of All-State auditions, and she did very well.

Natalie Merrell – All-District Choir

Two Lake Ridge singers were selected for the Region 5 Freshman/Sophomore Honor Choir.

James Mattler – 11th chair Tenor

Lake Ridge was represented by some fantastic singers at two auditions on Saturday at L.D. Bell HS.

For the Round 2 of TMEA All-State process, both competitors placed in an honor choir.
Jonathan Li (senior) earned 11th chair as a Baritone in the All-Region Choir and also advances to the next round in November – keeping his hopes of All-State membership alive.
Christian Adkins (senior) improved greatly from first round and placed in the All-District Choir.

In the audition for the 9th & 10th Grade Honor Choir…
Maiyah Kelly was selected as 7th chair Soprano, and
Alexander Estes made 12th chair in the Bass section.

These students will perform in the respective Honor Groups in a concert on November 23 at the MISD Center for Performing Arts.
